Brooklyn, NY According to Two Trees Management Co. design studio Snøhetta has signed a lease for 25,000 s/f at 55 Washington St. Located in DUMBO, Snøhetta’s new headquarters offers the creative space for its dialogue-driven approach to design. “DUMBO is a magnet for the leading design and architecture firms of New York City. The park, waterfront, great local retailers, art galleries and rich cultural history all contribute to this neighborhood feeling alive with new ideas and new ways of working. There is no better place to live and work than DUMBO, and the team at Snøhetta understands that they will be able to do their best work here,” said Jed Walentas, principal of Two Trees Management. “DUMBO has always been a hub for companies that push big, new ideas that move industry forward. Snøhetta’s global practice is truly exemplary of that, and we can’t wait to see how they add to the great community here.”

“Joining the vibrant and creative community of DUMBO is an exciting step for us as we continue to grow the business. Our new office space embodies the collaborative approach that defines our work in a location which fosters innovation and connection to explore new ideas alongside so many other talented design firms,” said Elaine Molinar, partner and managing director at Snøhetta.

Alyssa Zahler, managing director of Commercial Leasing, represented Two Trees in-house. Jason Kroeger, director at Cushman & Wakefield, and Aron Schreier, managing director at Cushman & Wakefield, represented Snøhetta.

“We’ve seen a huge uptick in design and architecture firms moving to DUMBO over the last few years, and the area has quickly become New York’s newest and most thriving design district. Snøhetta joins both local and world-renowned firms such as BIG and Henrybuilt. We are excited to continue to nurture this incredible community in DUMBO,” said Zahler.

“It was a privilege to work with Snøhetta and support their transition to a location that offers a vibrant mix of creative energy, architectural charm, and a thriving business community,” said Kroeger.
