Hempstead, NY Hofstra University broke ground at its local campus on June 10th, 2021 for its new 75,000 s/f Science and Innovation Center.
The building will house engineering and nursing programs, including classroom, laboratories, faculty offices and student space.
The $103 million project was assisted by the issuance of tax-exempt bonds through the Town of Hempstead Local Development Corp. (LDC), which assists not-for-profit organizations in the town. Taking part in the ceremony were Michael Lodato, corporate administrator of the LDC and the Hempstead Town Industrial Development Agency; Hempstead town supervisor Donald Clavin Jr., Hofstra president Stuart Rabinowitz, and Dorothy Goosby, Hempstead First District Town council member.
When Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) were first part of commercial real estate risk management, it was the lenders driving this requirement. When a borrower wanted a loan on a property, banks would utilize a list of “Approved Consultants” to order the report on both refinances and purchases.
