Hofstra University breaks ground for 75,000 s/f project

Hempstead, NY Hofstra University broke ground at its local campus on June 10th, 2021 for its new 75,000 s/f Science and Innovation Center.

The building will house engineering and nursing programs, including classroom, laboratories, faculty offices and student space.

The $103 million project was assisted by the issuance of tax-exempt bonds through the Town of Hempstead Local Development Corp. (LDC), which assists not-for-profit organizations in the town. Taking part in the ceremony were Michael Lodato, corporate administrator of the LDC and the Hempstead Town Industrial Development Agency; Hempstead town supervisor Donald Clavin Jr., Hofstra president Stuart Rabinowitz, and Dorothy Goosby, Hempstead First District Town council member.
