Tishman Speyer is the landlord. "The consulate's existing lease was set to expire, and the landlord offered them good terms to renew, reflecting their credit worthiness as a tenant," said Matthew McBride, senior vice president, CBRE, who noted that consulates and missions have now become more sought-after by landlords. "This lease is also a good example of foreign faith in the importance of continuing to be in the Manhattan market." The consulate has occupied its space at One Rockefeller Center since 1993. Tishman Speyer was represented internally.
