OPEN Impact Real Estate leases 8,619 s/f to Bike New York’s Recycle-a-Bicycle

Brooklyn, NY According to OPEN Impact Real Estate (OPEN), Bike New York has signed a new 10-year lease for 8,619 s/f on the third floor of Industry City’s 4014 1st Ave. The new space will house Bike New York’s Recycle-a-Bicycle program.

“OPEN Impact Real Estate has been honored to represent Bike New York for over a decade, helping them secure spaces that support their mission,” said Stephen Powers, co-founder of OPEN. “Their new home in Industry City will not only expand the organization’s programming but also enrich the broader ecosystem of this vibrant community. We are thrilled to have played a role in making this vision a reality.”

Powers, Ethan Voligny and Kendall Elliott of OPEN represented the tenant, Bike New York, in the transaction; Jeff Fein and Brad Blum of Industry City represented the landlord.

“We are excited to welcome Bike New York to Industry City, where their training center will play a crucial role in developing skilled labor in our community,” said Fein, senior vice president of leasing at Industry City. “Recycle-a-Bicycle Program not only enhances our commitment to sustainability but also empowers local residents with valuable skills in bike maintenance and repair. As Industry City continues to evolve as a hub for innovation and creativity, we believe that partnerships like this will drive meaningful growth and foster a vibrant, skilled workforce.”

The new facility, featuring a bike repair area and classroom space, will allow community members to learn bike maintenance skills while supporting the organization’s broader mission of promoting cycling and sustainability. Bike New York, previously located at Brooklyn Navy Yard, sought a space better suited to the communities it serves and found Industry City to be an ideal home.
