Mc Gowan Builders completes first PNC Bank branches in South Florida

Mc Gowan Builders Inc. completed the first PNC Bank branches in South Florida, located at 16250 Indian Trace in Weston, and 2561 University Dr. in Coral Springs and its first Florida Mortgage Service Center in Jacksonville. Both PNC Bank branches are hurricane and seismic-proof, and all three of the projects were awarded LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council for sustainable and efficient construction. PNC Bank Branch Office — Weston, Florida Mc Gowan Builders constructed the 4,000-square-foot PNC Bank branch office from the ground up, starting with the demolition of the pre-existing structure. To ensure a strong frame, Mc Gowan Builders installed load bearing walls, a concrete slab-on-grade foundation and a steel structural system. The design-build project was a unique opportunity for both Mc Gowan Builders, and the first of its kind for PNC Bank. The PNC Bank branch office's façade includes a brick veneer, stucco and an aluminum and glass storefront. Mc Gowan Builders installed the building's interior finishes, including carpet and resilient tile flooring, divider walls and acoustical tiles ceilings. The bank's mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), telecommunication and safety systems were installed by Mc Gowan Builders. PNC Bank Branch Office — Coral Springs, Florida PNC Coral Springs was also a design-build project for Mc Gowan Builders, whose team successfully installed the 5,500-square-foot building's structural system from the ground up. Underscoring the building's strength are reinforced concrete walls with L-beams, a steel frame and a steel truss roof support system. Mc Gowan Builders completed underground utilities, interior finishes, MEP systems and landscaping for the property. Landscaping encompassed 25 replanted mahogany and cyprus trees, grass and shrubs, 20 post lights and a new parking lot. Mc Gowan Builders outfit the PNC Bank branch office's interior with a vestibule with two ATM machines and a customer service area with a central atrium. The branch includes a LifeSpace™ private office system for individual client service, which incorporates glazed metal wall panels, fixed glass windows and sliding doors. PNC Bank Mortgage Service Center — Jacksonville, Florida Mc Gowan Builders also recently completed an office fit-out of a mortgage processing center for a PNC Bank in Jacksonville. The LEED Silver project encompassed a gut demolition and complete build-out of the space. The office features two elevator lobbies; a reception area; 24 private offices; nine conference and meeting rooms; open space offices; two pantries; and data, telecommunication, as well as mission critical facilities. The design incorporates numerous high-end architectural elements such as drywall soffits with concealed lighting, expansive glass divider walls, Fry Reglet wall systems in the elevator lobbies, and high end millwork. MGB installed an extensive technological and telecommunications infrastructure as well as new MEP systems. The facility includes air-tight data/server rooms with FM 200 chemical sprinkler systems, halogen fire suppression systems, and dedicated Liebert cooling units. Construction work was phased in order to allow the facility to remain in use throughout the project. The team incorporated extensive noise control and dust prevention measures. MGB delivered the project under budget and on schedule.
