Commack, NY Two family-friendly concepts are joining Mayfair Shopping Center according to Levin Management Corp. (LMC). Indoor playground Kids Empire (21,000 s/f) and children’s fitness center My Gym (3,000 s/f) each will enhance the retail property’s experiential draw.
LMC serves as the exclusive leasing and managing agent for the 222,000 s/f Mayfair Shopping Center, which is located on Jericho Turnpike. E.J. Moawad, LMC senior leasing representative, negotiated both transactions on behalf of property ownership. Melissa Naeder of Cushman & Wakefield represented Kids Empire, while Juliana Chiarelli and Jason Sobel of RIPCO Real Estate represented My Gym.
The Commack Kids Empire represents the brand’s first Long Island location. It will backfill part of a former Best Supermarket space; PGA TOUR Superstore occupies the balance. This indoor entertainment concept offers a variety of climbing and play structures, a ball pit, slides, a space for birthday parties and more.
My Gym, a global brand with over 600 locations, will open next to Planet Fitness at Mayfair Shopping Center. The concept provides fun, age-appropriate fitness programs designed to encourage physical development in children ages 6 weeks to 10 years.
Moawad noted that tenants like Kids Empire and My Gym add value to a retail property by providing consumers with the opportunity to shop, dine and have fun all in one convenient location. The new leases underscore LMC’s focus on creating a tenant mix that drives both foot traffic and social engagement.
“These additions reflect consumers’ desire for retail properties that offer meaningful experiences – in addition to tenants that provide traditional products and services,” said Moawad. “These kids’ recreation and fitness concepts are an excellent fit with our in-place tenants at Mayfair Shopping Center and reinforce the property’s role as a vibrant community hub.”
Mayfair Shopping Center’s existing tenant lineup includes family-friendly brands such as Music & Arts and Champions Martial Arts. The property also features top-ranked grocer Lidl, J.Crew Factory and Sephora, along with an array of dining options, additional shops and service providers.
When Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) were first part of commercial real estate risk management, it was the lenders driving this requirement. When a borrower wanted a loan on a property, banks would utilize a list of “Approved Consultants” to order the report on both refinances and purchases.
