Hofstra Continuing Education moves real estate training online

Hempstead, NY Leap EDU and Hofstra University Continuing Education today announced that real estate professional training classes presented by Leap EDU on the Hofstra campus have been moved to a live online learning format in the wake of the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak.

The courses affected by the move are the New York State 75-hour Real Estate Salesperson Course and Back-2-Basics Continuing Education classes.

Almost 80 people are currently registered for the courses, which takes place three times daily, five days a week.

“We want to give our students the opportunity to continue their education while staying safe,” said Adam Barda, founding partner of Leap EDU. “With governments issuing guidelines for ‘social distancing’ to reduce the spread of the virus, students will be able to attend classes at home via their smart devices with a live instructor.”

Hofstra University vice dean Colleen Slattery said that the university is committed to continuing to serve its professional students via online classes. “In asking our non-essential personnel to work from home, moving these courses online allows us to continue this important instruction,” said Slattery. “We will work with Leap and our instructors to help ensure a smooth transition.”

Leap EDU’s published schedule of Hofstra University classes will not be affected: Salesperson/Back-2-Basics classes will continue to be offered three times a day, five days a week. Students can refer to the class schedule at leapedu.com/live-online/

Leap Education is a premier 21st Century Real Estate licensing school focused on providing national and regional brokerages with cutting edge educational programs for their agents.

Leap EDU will continue to keep students apprised as additional courses are added to the online curriculum, Barda said.

When Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) were first part of commercial real estate risk management, it was the lenders driving this requirement. When a borrower wanted a loan on a property, banks would utilize a list of “Approved Consultants” to order the report on both refinances and purchases.
