
Hempstead, NY According to Frederick Parola, CEO of the Town of Hempstead Industrial Development Agency (IDA) and Local Development Corp., Thomas Grech was elected vice chairman of both agencies.
The election took place on Jan. 31.
Grech, president and CEO since 2015 of the Queens Chamber of Commerce, based in Jackson Heights, has been a member of the the IDA/LDC boards since early 2021. The position is unpaid.
From 2011 until 2015, Grech was managing director at JJT Energy, a natural gas and electric commodity supplier, and director of sales for CCI Energy Solutions and its partner, Breakwater Ventures. Until 2011, Grech was a supply chain executive with SONY DADC.
and before that worked in printing and publishing with RR Donnelley & Sons Co., Merrill Corp. and www.xlibris.com. He also taught classes in entrepreneurship and small business as an adjunct professor at Farmingdale State College.
A graduate of the University of Scranton, Scranton, PA, with a BS in accounting, Grech received his MBA in International Business from Manhattan College, Riverdale, NY.
Grech has served as president of University of Scranton national alumni board and as a board member of the Nassau Land Trust-Crossroads Farm.
