Greater New York chapter of IREM holds breakfast roundtable

New York, NY The Greater New York chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) held a breakfast roundtable discussion on Wednesday, November 9th at the Union League Club. Panelists included Gerard Ragusa, executive vice president claims, and Margaret Klein, attorney of record, both from GNY Insurance Companies. The discussion included: Premises liability and key issues for property managers; duty of care; hazards including: slip and fall, snow and ice, elevator and labor law.

The chapter also has named the honorees of their Annual Dinner & Awards to be held on Thursday, January 26th, 2017 at 230 Fifth Ave.

The honorees include the following:

Real Estate Person of the Year: Diane Ramirez, chief executive officer of Halstead Property.

Certified Property Manager of the Year: Sharon Hart Fanelli, general manager of Cushman & Wakefield.

Accredited Management Organization of the Year: Colliers International.

• Industry Partner of the Year: Ashokan Services.

The event will be sponsored by: Durnan Group Managers, GNY Insurance Companies and Mackoul & Associates, Inc.

IREM was built upon a foundation of ethics. All individual members are required to abide by the IREM Code of Professional Ethics to maintain their membership. The code is strictly enforced – violations are processed within a defined structure, including an established peer review process, and may result in disciplinary actions. The code protects the public, promotes competition and reflects contemporary business practices.

All real estate management firms holding the Accredited Management Organization (AMO) accreditation must abide by the Minimum Standards and Code of Ethics for the AMO to maintain their membership.
