New York, NY The 21-story, 196-room Cambria Hotel & Suites Times Square, designed by Gene Kaufman Architect, opened at 30 West 46th St. The second Manhattan location for the brand, its opening comes a year after that of the Cambria Hotel & Suites New York–Chelsea, also designed by Gene Kaufman Architect. The new 78,000-s/f, LEED-certified Cambria was developed by Concord Hospitality and Choice Hotels. The projecting all-glass bay widows on the upper floors are a key feature of the hotel’s sleek design. They offer the rooms river-to-river views east and west along 46th St. The new hotel’s amenities include, on the first floor, a 1,000-s/f restaurant with barrel-vaulted ceilings and wood-trimmed, high-backed banquet seating. Also on the first floor: a 500 s/f bar/lounge, accessible from the street, with a custom back-lighted marble bar fixture designed by McGinley Design, which designed all of the hotel’s public spaces. Other guest enticements include private terraces for the second-floor guest rooms, a rear outdoor garden with lounge seating, a front outdoor area with tables and chairs, a 700-s/f fitness center, a 24-hour business center, event facilities, dry cleaning and laundry services, free WiFi, and a refrigerator and flat-screen television in every room.
