Crazy Billy's Wine & Spirits utilize OceanSafe SSIP system

The owners of Crazy Billy's Wine and Spirits, William and Patti Peterson, welcomed guests and dignitaries to observe techniques and products being used to construct a new warehouse that will replace the original structure destroyed by heavy rooftop snow. Turbo Contracting Corp. team members and OceanSafe executives conducted tours of the construction project at 1887 Deer Park Ave., highlighting the installation of OceanSafe's revolutionary, lightweight durable and green building system. This is one of the first times on Long Island that OceanSafe's Structural Steel Insulating Panel System (SSIP) is being used to build the exterior envelope, walls and roof of a commercial structure. The Petersons wanted an energy efficient, highly durable and spacious structure for their year-round operations, and they needed it built quickly. OceanSafe of Greenport, New York a manufacturer of lightweight, interlocking, high-performance panel system was their solution. OceanSafe's hurricane and earthquake resistant building systems are being used in New Orleans and in Iraq to construct residential and commercial structures. 12,000 bottles of fine wines and spirits will be stored in the new 34,000 cubic foot warehouse attached to the retail shop. The new facility will be energy efficient and offer a comfortable environment for staff operations. "Buildings on Long Island are susceptible to hurricanes and other harsh weather conditions making our durable materials ideal for this environment. The SSIP system is cost effective to construct and offers numerous energy-saving, insurance savings and environmental benefits. Our materials will assist Crazy Billy's to maintain the proper temperature for the storage of its valuable inventory," said Robert Fusco, Vice President of OceanSafe Inc., Greenport, New York.
