Coghlan named CEO of Nassau County IDA

Mineola, NY The Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) board has selected Harry Coghlan as the agency’s new CEO. Coghlan will lead the team of professionals that promote the economic growth and prosperity of Nassau County. “The time is right for a private sector leader with a fresh perspective to lead the Nassau County IDA,” said county executive Laura Curran. “With Harry’s eminent experience as a business executive and as a community advocate, I am confident he will bring keen insight to the needs of companies already in Nassau, and those looking to relocate. He will help us attract new business, continue to create a business-friendly environment, and grow the tax base.”

“From high level roles in finance, marketing, and sales in a variety of markets from Times Sq. to Brazil, Harry has extensive experience in the private sector and will be a strong leader for our diverse board comprised of local business and community stakeholders,” said IDA chairman Richard Kessel. “We look forward to utilizing Harry’s expertise and guidance to continue to market our great County to corporations and ultimately bring jobs to Nassau.”

It is my goal to break barriers for business that will launch our local economy.”

Coghlan is an accomplished corporate and community leader specializing in business transformation. With a unique blend of financial, sales, marketing, operational and technical prowess, Coghlan has driven change for some of the world’s most renowned companies including: Clear Channel Outdoor, Con Edison, Avon and more.

Coghlan excels at orchestrating partnerships. With domestic and international experience, he has served as the voice of initiatives, causes, communities and industries. This has yielded numerous board positions, coalition launches, and media appearances.

Coghlan joins the IDA following a fifteen-year career with Clear Channel Outdoor, rising through the ranks as division controller and since 2010, president and general manager of the New York market, which covers New York City including Times Sq. and its northern suburbs, northern New Jersey, and Fairfield County, Conn.

Prior to joining the company, Coghlan served in a variety of executive roles for high profile companies, which included an expat assignment in an international business unit.
