Melville, NY The Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island (CIBS) made a donation of $6,400 to Long Island Cares, Inc. – The Harry Chapin Regional Food Bank, supporting the organization’s ongoing mission to provide food and resources to individuals and families in need across Long Island. This contribution will provide 4,032 meals for Long Islanders facing food insecurity.

The effort was spearheaded by CIBS board member Paul Leone, who galvanized the membership to act. In just a few short hours, CIBS members came together and raised the full $6,400, reflecting the strength of the organization’s network and its commitment to giving back.

“Our members are deeply committed to the communities where we live and work, and we were proud to support the incredible work of Long Island Cares,” said Leone. “Together, we made a meaningful impact in helping families who are struggling, and this donation reflects the spirit of generosity and responsibility that defines CIBS.”

“CIBS has always been about more than just business — it’s about building community,” added David Leviton, past president of CIBS. “Supporting Long Island Cares is a perfect example of how our organization can harness the strength of our network to make a real difference for our neighbors.”

Long Island Cares welcomed the contribution as another example of local organizations stepping up to address food insecurity. “We are grateful to CIBS for their leadership and partnership in the fight against hunger,” said Long Island Cares event coordinator Theresa Redlein. “Their support is helping us expand our reach and continue providing essential food and resources to thousands of Long Islanders each month.”
