C&W supports Callen-Lorde healthcare expansion

Bronx, NY Cushman & Wakefield facilitated a new lease for the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. Callen-Lorde, a global leader in LGBTQ+ healthcare, signed a 17,207 s/f lease at 555 Bergen Ave. to open a larger healthcare facility in the borough, where it will continue to provide healthcare to underserved communities. The center will open its new facility to patients in summer 2026, relocating from its existing space at 3144 3rd Ave.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Carri Lyon and Jenna Catalon represented Callen-Lorde. The landlord, JJ Operating Real Estate Investments, was represented by Joe and David Jemal.

“This lease is a critical step in broadening our reach and bringing our inclusive healthcare model to more people in the Bronx,” said Callen-Lorde chief executive officer Patrick McGovern. “We’re thrilled to be in the heart of the community, expanding access to care, and contributing to the vitality of this landmark neighborhood.”

“Our team is pleased to help Callen-Lorde open a brand new, state-of-the-art healthcare center in the Bronx. This new facility is centrally located in The Hub, a bustling retail district that affords accessibility to existing and future patients,” said Lyon. “With its location bounded by Third Ave., Westchester Ave., Bergen Ave., and East 149th St., patients and staff alike will benefit from the convenience of one of the borough’s most connected transportation hubs. The space at 555 Bergen will allow Callen-Lorde to further its mission in an area steeped in historical and cultural significance.”

Callen-Lorde has cemented its reputation as a leading healthcare provider and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, with multiple locations across New York City, including its owned facility at 356 West 18th St. in Chelsea and a location in Brooklyn.
