BXP and Rudin sign Huge to a 12-year lease to occupy 71,000 s/f

Brooklyn, NY According to Boston Properties, Inc. (NYSE:BXP) and Rudin, Huge, one of the world’s preeminent design and innovation firms, is relocating its global headquarters to the top two office floors of Dock 72, a 16-story, 675,000 s/f modern office tower. The space will serve as Huge’s ‘Global Experience Center,’ offering Huge employees and guests a complete reimagining of the traditional workplace.

Huge signed a 12-year lease to occupy 71,000 s/f of office space spanning the entire 15th floor and a portion on the 14th floor of Dock 72. This is the largest new office lease in Brooklyn since January. Huge will move from its current location at 45 Main St. to Dock 72 in the first quarter of 2023, joining WeWork and Food52.

With locations in the U.S., Asia, Europe and South America, Huge employs over 1,200 technologists, marketers, designers, data scientists and strategists worldwide, and partners with some of the world's most recognized brands, including Google, Spotify, Warner Bros., McDonald’s, Nike, Citrix, Stellantis, M&M’s, Planet Fitness and LVMH.

“We are thrilled to welcome Huge to Dock 72,” said Hilary Spann, executive vice president, New York Region for BXP. “Dock 72 is the most dynamic workplace in Brooklyn, and will provide a variety of options for the Huge team to connect, collaborate and drive their business forward.”

“We designed, developed and programmed Dock 72 to appeal specifically to creative companies that thrive on innovation, creativity and authenticity,” said Michael Rudin, executive vice president of Rudin. “With its commitment to groundbreaking campaigns and products that focus on human experience and positive social impact, Huge is exactly the kind of company we had in mind.”

“Dock 72 is the perfect setting for Huge to architect a new era of working for our employees, partners and clients,” said Mat Baxter, global CEO at Huge. “The disruptions that have transformed our understanding of work these past two years will have been for nothing if we don’t learn from them and chart a new and better course for ourselves.

“Our new Global Experience Center at Dock 72 will function more like a clubhouse,” said Baxter, “highlighting and reinforcing our unique culture and providing a dynamic, flexible space to connect with co-workers, create, and invite clients in when needed.”

“The Navy Yard is a hub for innovation and Dock 72 is the perfect home for companies like Huge that are leaders in the creative space,” said Lindsay Greene, president and CEO of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation. “Huge will be a great addition to our community, joining a neighborhood of creators, engineers, advanced manufactures, innovators, artists and technologists who thrive in the Yard's collaborative ecosystem. We are excited to welcome Huge to their new headquarters which will not only allow them to continue growing their business but will also support our overall mission of fostering economic opportunity by bringing jobs to New York City, Brooklyn, and the Yard.”

Huge was represented by Winter Stockwell, Huge’s GVP, Real Estate, as well as Cara Chayet, David Hollander, Liz Lash and Ken Rapp of CBRE.
