Brookhaven IDA approves United Rentals incentives

East Patchogue, NY According to Frederick Braun III, chairman of the town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency, (IDA) the agency has closed on a package of economic incentives for United Rentals (North America) Inc.

United Rentals plans to build and operate an 18,000 s/f general construction and industrial equipment facility on 10 acres at 250 Orchard Rd. Two existing buildings on the site will be demolished. The site, a former trucking terminal, is owned by Gallopi family entities.  The facility will serve as a distribution center for the tri-state area where equipment will be warehoused and repaired before it is sent to United Rentals retail locations.

The project, valued at $8.5 million, is expected to bring 40 new jobs to the town within two years of the completion of construction. It also will result in the creation of 34 construction jobs.

“We are pleased that United Rentals plans to expand its operations to our town, bringing in new jobs and investment,” said Braun.
