New York, NY HKS Capital Partners, a New York-based capital advisory firm, has appointed Charles Yellen as the company’s new managing director.

His responsibilities will be to manage the firm’s growing practice and work in collaboration with the founding partners and staff to mentor HKS brokers and trainees.  In keeping with the HKS’ “client-centric” approach, he brings experience to the key components of HKS: originations, processing and operations.

“Charles brings years of experience with all facets of the business,” said HKS Capital founding co-partner Ayush Kapahi. “His ability to originate, place and manage makes him a very valuable addition to our team.  We are excited to have him on board and look forward to the future.”

Before joining HKS, he worked at Pergolis Swartz Associates Inc. for ten years where he obtained commercial mortgages for all asset classes (multifamily, retail, industrial, office, hotel, construction) in deals with a net worth of $500 million.

“I look forward to bringing my passion for helping others achieve their best and my collaborative management style to HKS Capital Partners,” said Yellen, who has over 25 years of experience in finance.

“Charles is a proven intermediary, adept at structured financing, able to accommodate the needs of clients and lending institutions alike,’’ said HKS founding partner Jerry Swartz. "He is an accomplished advisor and consultant who works with and represents local developers, as well as S&P 500 companies."

Yellen is an active member of his community where he has coached sports’ teams for the West Side Soccer League, CYO and the Yorkville Youth Athletic Association. He has served as president and co-president of the Park Avenue Synagogue Men’s Club and on the synagogue’s Advisory Council.

The Manhattan resident is most proud of his volunteer activity serving as a mentor to at-risk city youth, including teenagers, for the “I Have a Dream” Foundation and Mentoring USA.
