Ugly Dumpling joining Briarcliff Commons

Morris Plains, NJ According to Urban Edge Properties, Ugly Dumpling is opening at Briarcliff Commons in the former Harmons location. The 179,520 s/f shopping center is 100% leased and is anchored by Uncle Giuseppe’s, Kohl’s, City MD and First Watch.

Ugly Dumping is a fast-growing concept that pays homage to the centuries-old cooking techniques of Shanghai while cultivating an experience that's exciting to today's modern palette. The new location will be 5,654 s/f and feature signature dishes such as Xiao Long Bao (XLB), a Chinese dumpling hailing from Shanghai filled with a soup broth. Ugly Dumpling's menu also offers an array of Dim Sum, Wontons, traditional noodle and wok dishes with a spin, accompanied by traditional Shanghai appetizers and greens.

"Ugly Dumpling brings a new full-service casual dining option to Briarcliff Commons and is an ideal fit with the other food and beverage operators at the Center,” said Justin Lustig, vice president of leasing for Urban Edge Properties. “We are proud of the evolution of this center from renovation to 100% leased, delivering much desired services and retail to the community.”

Located at the intersection of Rte. 10 and Rte. 202, Briarcliff Commons was renovated in 2019 and features tenants including First Watch, Chick-fil-A, and Chopt. The center provides services to the populated communities of Morris Plains, Morristown, Parsippany, and Whippany area.

Jerry Welkis and Stephan Miller of Welco Realty Inc. represented Ugly Dumpling in this transaction, and Urban Edge handled the lease with the in-house team including Lustig.
