Soloway, partner at Certilman Balin, passes away

East Meadow, NY According to Certilman Balin, Louis Soloway, a prominent attorney, and partner in the real estate and land use and zoning practice groups has passed. 

Soloway practiced law for more than 70 years and is leaving behind a legacy of excellence, integrity, and a reputation for providing expert counsel in land use and commercial real estate transactions. The impact of his work and his talent for finding straightforward solutions to complex problems made his guidance highly sought after by both clients and colleagues.

Certilman Balin’s managing partner, Howard Stein, remembers Soloway fondly, “Lou was a legend in the legal community for his brilliance and his knowledge of the law. Lou was not only a leading legal mind but also my mentor and an inspiration to many young attorneys. He fostered a culture of mentorship and collaboration. He will be missed by all of us at Certilman Balin.”

In addition to being a cornerstone of the legal community, Soloway was also a dedicated philanthropist. He served as a director of The Rehabilitation Institute and was honored as Humanitarian of the Year by them. He also served as chairman of the Real Estate Committee of the Nassau County Lawyers Association and was a member of both the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association where he served on the Real Estate Committee and the Grievance Committee. 

Aside from the legal field, Soloway had a strong passion for arts and culture and avidly supported the NYC Ballet.

Soloway will live on through the many lives he touched and the standards he set in his profession.
