RELA provides $5,000 in annual scholarship funding to support students in real estate finance

New York, NY The Real Estate Lenders Association, Inc. (RELA) has created two new annual scholarships to provide over $5,000 of tuition and textbook funding assistance to students at The Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College. The program will support one graduate and one undergraduate student that intend to pursue a career in real estate finance. This year, two students will receive support in the amount of $2,500 per student in order to help cover the costs of their education and encourage a career in real estate finance. The scholarship students will also be provided free attendance at all RELA breakfasts and welcomed to attend and actively engage with the real estate finance community. The 2015 graduate student recipient is Alexandra Tverdokhlib. Tverdokhlib is dedicated to earning her Master of Science degree in Real Estate while also working for a development firm based in Rego Park, Queens. This year’s undergraduate recipient is Ben Nahmani, an ambitious student focused on earning his Bachelor of Business Administration degree while also working as the managing director with a private investment company focusing on foreclosures in the tri-state area. The Zicklin School of Business at Baruch programs will continue to select one graduate and one undergraduate student each year according to selection criteria determined by RELA. • Applicants must be a senior in the BBA real estate program or MBA or MS real estate. • Applicants must intend to pursue careers in real estate finance. •  Applicants must write a statement demonstrating their commitment to commercial. • Applicants must maintain 3.2 GPA. • Preference will be given to qualified women or minority candidates. • Candidates shall be selected by the Department of Real Estate at the Zicklin School program students real estate of Business.
