The progression of web browsers on the Internet

February 5, 2010 - Brokerage
Over time, the Internet has evolved into a more dynamic, collaborative place. Web browsers have usually done a decent job at keeping up with the ever-changing web. For the past couple of years, the development and progression of web browsers has become very aggressive. Each company is trying to make their browser faster and more secure than their competitors. Following web standards has become a key factor to ensuring the web browser's ability to compete. The benefits of having this aggressive pattern are vast. Increased security, faster execution and rendering of websites, and quicker releases/updates to the browsers are only a few. Greater compliance with web standards will see an increase as well which will be beneficial for developers and users. It will take time for most of these changes to become common or even expected from web browsers. One of the main reasons for this, is the problem of updating. There are many people who are not running an updated browser (or operating system) and it may not even occur to them that it's important to keep your browser (and most software) up to date. There is still a large percentage using Internet Explorer 6 which is outdated and very insecure in this day and age. If you are someone that uses multiple web browsers, I invite you to visit rejournal.com to see if you notice a difference in the speed with which the website is loaded and displayed.
