2025 Year in Review: Daniel Monteiro, Reidy Contracting Group
Managing Partner
Reidy Contracting Group
What transaction, project, or key moment best reflected the direction of the New York CRE market this year?
This year, our work reflected the shifting New York CRE market, highlighting changing tenant priorities and a renewed push toward experiential, community-driven spaces. From Poke Court in the Meatpacking District to converting a former Brooklyn retail space into a Brooklyn Basketball youth center, we saw strong demand for adaptive reuse, global coordination, and design-driven solutions, along with an uptick in interior office work.
What accomplishment, milestone, project or transaction stood out for you or your firm in 2025?
A major milestone this year was completing the National Urban League Headquarters in the heart of Harlem. This 88,000 s/f project features terrazzo flooring, double-height ceilings, Skyfold partitions, and a soon-to-open civil rights museum. We had the honor of joining the National Urban League team to celebrate this long-awaited accomplishment, and we are incredibly proud to have brought their vision to life.
What emerging trends or shifts will shape opportunities for you, your firm, or market sector in 2026?
In 2026, we expect a continued push toward complex renovations, adaptive reuse, and highly detailed interiors that require strong field coordination and craftsmanship. Clients want partners who can solve problems early, manage challenging logistics, and keep projects moving. Firms with deep construction expertise and strong trade relationships — like ours — will be positioned to lead.
