Manhattan, NY According to GFP Real Estate, Riverside Immigrant Services & Empowerment, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides critical services to immigrants, including providing case management/counseling, workforce development, digital literacy and community and civic engagement training, has signed a new 10-year lease for 7,649 s/f of space on the 20th floor of 520 Eighth Ave.

Matthew Mandell of GFP Real Estate represented the landlord, GFP Real Estate in the transaction; ACONA Real Estate Advisors represented the tenant.

"520 Eighth Avenue’s central location was a key factor in Riverside’s decision to relocate—it's incredibly important for the organization to remain easily accessible to the diverse communities they serve across all five boroughs,” said Mandell. “GFP Real Estate, the largest space provider to nonprofit organizations across NYC, is proud to provide a space that helps further their mission and expand their impact."

Riverside Immigrant Services & Empowerment’s new space will be used to expand its programs and services, which help new immigrants integrate into life in the U.S. through improved English language skills, workforce development, digital literacy and community engagement. The organization plans to create classrooms and training rooms at the new location, along with dedicated spaces for case management and counseling services, in addition to its general and executive offices.

"We are thrilled to be moving to a building with a landlord who truly understands and supports our mission," said the organization's executive director, Berta Colón. "We are especially grateful for ACONA's tremendous help in facilitating this match, which will allow us to better serve our community."

The nonprofit is expected to relocate from its current offices at 270 West 89th St. in early fall.
