What has been the most rewarding project or deal you’ve worked on in your career, and why?

A project we’re especially excited to be involved in is the Haverstraw Brick Museum. The Museum will bring together a wide collection of sustainable technologies and design ideas, such as geothermal integration, rainwater harvesting, hot water heat pump, and sustainable HVAC systems, into a solid LEED-certified package. We’re just starting to dive into the design work, and are thrilled to be bringing in all of our expertise into a project that will preserve and celebrate the rich history of the Hudson Valley for generations to come.

What skill or quality do you believe is essential for success in your field today?

It’s easy to overlook how important communication is in such a technically minded field. While staying current and educated in changing technologies is vital, MWB Engineering believes all successful projects blend technical knowledge and innovation with consistent collaboration and adaptability. We know that picking up the phone and forming a relationship with the entire team is the first step to all great projects.

If you could change one thing about the CRE industry, what would it be and why?

We would love to see a shift in the decision-making process across all trades to minimize changes in construction during the life of the project. Too often, MEP systems are brought in after key decisions are made, which can result in money and time being wasted. Having a clear path in place for when and which consultants are engaged can drive smarter design choices, reduce rework, and support long-term project goals.
