2025 Women in CRE: Kimberly Hartnett, AmTrust Title Insurance Company
Executive Vice President, Strategic Growth and Agency Development
AmTrust Title Insurance Company
If you could change one thing about the CRE industry, what would it be and why?
Within the next decade, 40% of the industry workforce will reach retirement age, yet we face a significant gap in attracting and retaining talent. We need more women, and greater diversity overall, in decision-making roles. Our organizations must provide access to mentorship, sponsorship, and growth opportunities to develop the next generation of leaders. I also believe in normalizing flexible, results-driven work culture that allow more people to thrive. By investing in inclusivity and leadership development now, we can ensure a stronger, more innovative industry for the future.
What advice would you give to a woman considering a career in commercial real estate?
Become a master of skills and a jack of all trades. The more versatile you are, the faster you can pivot, support and add value across the business. Let that versatility be the foundation for building your confidence and finding your voice. Knowledge empowers you to speak with confidence, command the room, and lead with impact.
What skill or quality do you believe is essential for success in your field today?
I believe that staying curious and being a lifelong learner is essential to success. Our industry is constantly evolving, from market dynamics to technology to client expectations, and those who approach each day with curiosity are better equipped to adapt, innovate, and lead. Curiosity not only keeps you informed, it keeps you engaged, open-minded, and ready for the next opportunity.
Comment: I would say questions 2 and 3 would be my top preferences for print.
