What recent professional milestone or project are you most proud of, and why? I recently completed the most complex and rewarding project of my career: the new David Zwirner Gallery on 19th St. in Chelsea. Our talented project team successfully navigated major technical challenges — from installing 100-ft. piles with only 13 ft. of clearance to threading a new steel frame through an existing structure. We approached each challenge as a chance to problem-solve, collaborate, and grow. I am beyond proud of what my team achieved together.

What is your top advice for someone just starting out in your field? To anyone stepping onto a construction site for the first time: don’t pretend you know how to build the whole thing. On one of my first jobs as an assistant superintendent, I was honest about being new to construction. Soon, forepersons started asking, “Ever used a ProPress?” or “Set a door frame before?” My answer: “No, but can I come watch and help?” Most forepersons are natural teachers — whether they realize it or not — and they’ll take you under their wing if you show respect and a willingness to learn. Be a sponge — the more curious and open you are, the faster you’ll grow in your craft.
