What’s one challenge you’ve overcome in your career so far, and what did it teach you? One of the most significant challenges I faced was transitioning from practicing law in India to building a legal career in the United States. Navigating a new legal system, cultural expectations, and professional networks required immense adaptability and perseverance. Earning my LLM from Georgetown University and gaining admission to the New York Bar were pivotal steps, but the journey taught me the value of grit, humility, and continuous learning. This experience has made me a more empathetic advocate and a stronger mentor to others facing similar transitions.

What is your top advice for someone just starting out in your field? My top advice is: “Be fearless in your pursuit of growth, and never underestimate the power of preparation.” Whether in court or at the negotiation table, success often hinges on diligence, clarity, and confidence. I encourage young attorneys to seek mentors, ask questions, and embrace challenges as opportunities to learn. In a field as dynamic as real estate litigation, staying curious and committed to excellence will set you apart.

What recent professional milestone or project are you most proud of, and why? I am most proud of my recent promotion to Partner at BBG in January 2025. This milestone reflects my legal accomplishments and my dedication to client advocacy and team leadership. This year, I successfully resolved more than ten non-payment and eviction proceedings, including two high-profile licensee holdover cases where I negotiated settlements with no buyout — despite initial demands of $250,000 and $100,000. I also secured summary judgment in three commercial holdover proceedings, resulting in nearly $800,000 in combined judgments.

Who has been pivotal in your professional development, and how have they influenced you? I credit my mentors—both in India and the United States—for shaping my professional journey. At BBG, I have been fortunate to work alongside seasoned litigators who have modeled integrity, strategic thinking, and client-centered advocacy. Their guidance has helped me refine my litigation style and grow into a leadership role. Equally important are the women in my professional network, including members of Girl Gang, who have inspired me to lead with authenticity and support others along the way.
