Developing Brooklyn:<br> Columbia Street Commons

Brooklyn, NY Columbia Street Commons, which will bring 371 units of much-needed 100% affordable and supportive housing to Red Hook, is one of the largest deals closed with NYC HPD in 2024. The project is the first of a three-phase, 661-unit development, which will be the first large-scale residential development in Red Hook.
The project is developed by Express Builders and nonprofit service provider Jericho Project, along with development consultant Rockabill Consulting. Jericho Project will provide on-site services to meet the needs of the full continuum of residents: low-income families, seniors, and formerly homeless individuals and families. This type of high-impact development represents both the critical need for more housing and the city’s commitment to investing in high quality housing for all New Yorkers.
“This project is the real deal,” said Katie Devine of Rockabill Consulting.“100% of the units will be affordable for households earning 80% of AMI or less, with the vast majority serving families at extremely low income levels. This is the kind of accessible, affordable housing that NYC needs.”
