Nelson Pope Voorhis announce promotions

Melville, NY Nelson, Pope & Voorhis, LLC (“NPV”), a full-service environmental, land use and planning services firm, announced the promotion of two team members: Taylor Garner, AICP, and Jonathan McGinn. Garner has been promoted to project manager/senior environmental planner, and McGinn has been promoted to senior environmental analyst.

Garner, AICP, previously a senior environmental planner and GIS manager at NPV, has been promoted to project manager/senior environmental planner. Over her nine-year tenure at NPV, Garner has acquired extensive experience in performing subdivision and site plan reviews, preparing and reviewing environmental impact assessment documents (SEQR and CEQR), and conducting fiscal and economic (IMPLAN) impact assessments. She has also played a key role in facilitating public outreach for long-range planning initiatives, including comprehensive plans and the preparation of new zoning codes for local municipalities. In her new capacity as project manager/senior environmental planner, Garner will expand her responsibilities to include the management of long-range planning projects, notably comprehensive plans, zoning code amendments, and fiscal and economic analysis assignments for both private sector and municipal clients.

McGinn, formerly an environmental analyst at NPV with 18 years at NPV, has been promoted to senior environmental analyst. McGinn holds certification as a Ground Penetrating Radar Technician and has completed the OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour and 8-hour refresher courses. In his new role, McGinn will continue to prepare Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) reports, oversee the sampling of soils, soil vapor, and groundwater, conduct Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections, and serve as the primary point of contact for Phase I ESA FOIL file reviews. Additionally, he will provide high-level support services and assume project management responsibilities.
