What do you like best about being a woman in the AEC industry? As a creative force, I believe there is nothing more important than mentoring the next generation of interior designers and affiliated AEC professions. This includes getting in front of underrepresented high school students to expose them to AEC and STEM-related career possibilities that can ultimately shepherd them into this industry.
What recent project, accomplishment or award are you most proud of? The transformation of SUNY Stony Brook shell space into the UNITI Cultural Center inspired our entire team to create a welcoming, vibrant space for inclusivity, engagement and multicultural unity. The centerpiece was a multi-use visual experience using a ceiling-mounted, illuminated red ribbon to represent the thread that connects all people.
