Related Companies and Atria Senior Living open Coterie Hudson Yards

Manhattan, NY Related Companies and Atria Senior Living officially open Coterie Hudson Yards at 505 West 35th St.
Designed by Handel Architects with interiors by March and White Design (MAWD), the Hudson Yards location comprises 126 residences dedicated to the wants and needs of older adults. The apartments consist of studio, one- and two-bedroom independent and assisted living residences, along with a collection of studios specifically for memory care. Coterie Hudson Yards’ building exterior by Handel Architects utilizes glass, metal and terra cotta to bridge the aesthetic of the surrounding neighborhoods on Manhattan’s West Side.
“Coterie Hudson Yards is designed to foster community while providing the expertly designed residences, unparalleled access and services residents want, with the tailored care they need,” said Hailey Sarage, vice president at Related Companies. “Located in the heart of Manhattan’s West Side, this new vertical community is primed to deliver a unique living experience for the older adult.”
“Coterie Hudson Yards will provide the gold standard of care for our residents, with nearly 1:1 resident-to-employee staffing to ensure that individuals have access to personalized care 24/7. Specialized care is at the heart of what we do at Coterie, which is why we have created an environment that is focused on holistic wellness for each resident,” said Joanna Mansfield, BSN, RN, general manager at Coterie Hudson Yards. “From on-site health care experts and relationships with leading wellness brands to engaging programming and amenities that foster mental and physical wellness, Coterie Hudson Yards will provide a one-of-a-kind care experience for residents.”
“We wanted Coterie Hudson Yards to feel warm and welcoming, reinforcing the brand’s quiet luxury through the architecture and materiality,” said Frank Fusaro, partner of Handel Architects. “Residents will have an exceptional experience from the moment they approach the entry, which features granite planters, limestone panels, and a bronze and glass entry canopy with a fluted profile that mirrors the larger facade. The tower itself is adorned with custom-glazed terra cotta that complements the entryway design and gives Coterie Hudson Yards a distinct facade that will be a new icon in the neighborhood.”
Coterie Hudson Yards’ suite of amenities focuses on individual health, from elevated dining experiences featuring an in-building restaurant and bakery to access to health and wellness services, with Mayo Clinic Healthy Living Program-certified wellness staff. On-site private healthcare facilities with industry leading treatment and diagnostic capabilities, which are available 24/7, emphasize privacy and are rooted in hospitality and include members-only access to Sollis Health, which offers on-site medical services from emergency care to advanced imaging.
Amenities designed to enhance overall wellness include a fitness center, yoga studio, salon operated by Oscar Blandi, and access to a tailored nutrition and diet plan complemented by master classes for learning and curated programs to nourish each resident’s mind, body, and spirit.
A collection of dining areas and lounges offer sophisticated and seasonal menus tailored to residents’ preferences prepared by chefs trained at Michelin star-rated restaurants. A counter-height bar, both wheelchair and walker accessible, is adjacent to a wrap-around sky terrace with beautiful city views. A library, a theater, and an activities room with a bakery attached for cooking classes are just some of the amenities that round out this carefully curated offering.
Designed by MAWD, the independent and assisted living residences include large floor plans with full kitchens with Brazilian Quartzite Taj Mahal countertops and custom Italian kitchen cabinetry. Energy-efficient appliances include Miele induction cooktops and a washer and dryer. Bathrooms feature heated flooring with mosaic tile, Kohler veil smart toilets and custom Italian bathroom vanities with expansive medicine storage cabinets.
“We designed the interiors at Coterie Hudson Yards to mirror that of the most distinguished five-star hotels, where every detail has been intricately tailored to the unique needs of its residents,” said Elliot March, MAWD co-founder.
Technology features include Lutron Caseta advanced wireless-controllable and voice-controllable lighting, Honeywell wireless-controllable and voice-controllable smart thermostats, Salto wireless locks for keyless entry and custom motorized blackout shades. Memory care units are equipped with Lutron Ketra circadian lighting.
Coterie Hudson Yards is the second Coterie location to open following Coterie Cathedral Hill in San Francisco in early 2022. Two additional Coterie locations are set to open in Santa Clara and Cupertino, California in 2024 and 2025.
