Katz & Associates names new hires in New York and Florida

Boca Raton, FL According to Brian Katz, CEO of Katz & Associates, they have completed three new hires: Michael Peguero and Sean Philipps are joining Katz’s New York office, and Robert “Sonny” Nuchereno joins Katz’s Boca office. All will work on tenant and landlord representation.

Peguero and Philipps are each joining the Katz New York team as a director. They are coming from Zelnik & Company where they were leasing advisors representing clients throughout the five boroughs in New York City. At Katz, they will apply their top-notch negotiating, strategy, networking, and market knowledge to tenant and landlord representation.

Peguero has always been passionate about commercial real estate; he was born into the business as the son of a Brooklyn landlord. Peguero has taken part in real estate transactions for over 19 years, earning his real estate license during college, and after graduation working at Chase Commercial Lending. He has also worked at the family office to head investment sales, commercial leasing, and portfolio management, as well as at Compass Commercial focusing on retail leasing. Peguero is a member of ICSC. He graduated from Hunter College with a B.S. in Sociology.

Philipps is passionate about assisting new and existing retailers expand in the New York Metro area. He enjoys helping landlords find the right long-term tenants. Philipps has completed leasing for properties including: 161-21 Jamaica, 2467 Jerome Ave., and 204 Wythe Ave. with retailers such as Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, Hook and Reel, Blink Fitness, and The Shade Store. Some of his notable tenant representation work includes leasing for Chase Bank, Shen Beauty, Calexico, The Bar Method, and Housing Works. Philipps excels in having up-to-date market knowledge so both sides are best suited to complete a deal. Sean is a member of ICSC. He graduated from Syracuse University with a B.A. in Fine/Studio Arts. 

Nuchereno joins the Katz Boca team as an associate where he will work on various landlord and tenant rep assignments. Coming from a family involved in commercial and residential real estate, this has been his love and passion growing up. A graduate from Nichols School, with a background of sports, he is tenacious and persistent. Nuchereno is a personable, honest, and thorough agent. His accomplishments through hockey and golf taught him how to be versatile and hardworking.
