H2M architects + engineers acquires Wiedersum Associates

Melville, NY H2M architects + engineers (H2M), a full-service multi-disciplined professional consulting and design firm, has acquired Wiedersum Associates Architects as of March 1st.  Wiedersum is one of the oldest family-owned architectural firms on Long Island located in Hauppauge. After the acquisition, Wiedersum’s team will reside in H2M’s Melville office and will have a primary focus within the H2M Education Market.  Both firms are looking forward to bringing their individual expertise together to provide a high-quality level of service to both their current and future clients. This partnership affirms the strategic business decision both firms have made to bring their relationship to the next level. 

Wiedersum was founded by Frederic Wiedersum in Valley Stream, NY in 1926. The firm has been a leader in the K-12 Education Market with notable and unique educational projects such as The Rosemary Kennedy Center in North Bellmore for Nassau BOCES, which was the largest public day school of its kind in the nation that was dedicated to a diversified range of special needs children. The firm has also achieved numerous awards for outstanding design, the latest being the new 74,700 s/f Learning Resource Center at the Brentwood Campus of Suffolk County Community College, as well as expansion of Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park. 

The Wiedersum organization is presently under the leadership of Richard Wiedersum, A.I.A., the fourth generation of architects. His role at H2M will be in leading a K-12 studio, as well as lending a high level of assistance in the Education Market, teaming with their current education market director, Guy Page, R.A., CSI and the deputy market director Saverio Belfiore, AIA, CSI.
