White Plains, NY The Hudson Gateway Realtor Foundation, the charitable arm of the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors (HGAR), recently presented a check for $2,500 to My Sisters’ Place.

For over 40 years, My Sisters’ Place (MSP) has been one of Westchester’s pioneering leader and resource in the field of domestic violence and human trafficking. MSP provides a continuum of direct services for adult and child victims (shelter, counseling, legal services, and education), effectively responding to the needs of families and individuals in crisis. Each year, the agency reaches more than 15,000 people through direct services, education and outreach. Serving clients of all socioeconomic, cultural and religious backgrounds, MSP’s multi-lingual and culturally sensitive services are designed to meet the specific needs of each client with the goal of ensuring that they can experience healing and move forward from trauma toward a peaceful and fulfilling life.

My Sisters’ Place strives to end domestic violence and human trafficking through comprehensive services, advocacy, and community education, and works to create a world in which every individual has the basic human right to be free from gender-based violence and to engage in relationships that embrace the principles of respect, equality, and safety.

“On behalf of the board, staff and clients of My Sisters’ Place, I want to thank the HG Realtor Foundation for their incredibly generous support and for choosing to stand with us as we work toward a world that is free from domestic violence and human trafficking. We all understand the importance of peace and safety in the home. This gift helps to ensure that we are able to provide services to anyone who is in need,” said Karen Cheeks-Lomax, Esq., CEO.

My Sisters’ Place is one of the many local Hudson Valley charities benefitting from the REALTOR® Foundation, which raises funds by holding “Pub Nights” throughout the Hudson Valley, a Holiday Party and a major fundraising event.  This year, the Foundation will present “Viva Las Vegas” on May 8 at New Rochelle’s Glen Island Harbour Club.  The event will feature an “Elvis” tribute artist and show, an aerialist, gaming tables, food, cocktails, dancing and a silent auction.

Established in 2004 and relaunched in 2013, the Foundation has donated thousands of dollars to charities and non-profits throughout the Hudson Valley.  As concerned members of the communities we work in, the Hudson Gateway Realtor Foundation participates in qualified community-based charities who serve the housing, hunger, health, happiness, and humane needs of citizens everywhere.
