BOMA N.Y. hosts 2016 annual conference and leadership breakfast
New York, NY BOMA New York hosted its 2016 annual conference and leadership breakfast on Thursday, October 27th from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at Club 101.
NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) commissioner, Rick Chandler, P.E., presented a keynote address updating participants on the newest phases of DOB NOW, the city’s reform program outlined in Building One City. Chandler discussed the new Inspection Ready program, encompassing on-line scheduling, tracking and notifications; the Build program, addressing on-line job and permit filing for plumbing and sprinkler work; and the safety program, which allows for on-line compliance for façade, elevators and boilers.
The keynote addressed was followed by a panel discussion led by Philip Santantonio, co-founder of KM Associates of New York, Frank Fortino, president/CEO of Metropolis Group, Stephen Rizzo, counsel of Rizzo Group and Domenick Chieco, managing partner of Milrose Consultants.
The event also included the announcement of the BOMA New York 2016-2017 board leadership and newly elected directors:

The leadership breakfast serves as an annual conference for industry professionals to learn about the newest policies and practices impacting commercial real estate. This year’s topic, DOB NOW, is a group of web-friendly systems that over the next two years will be phasing out the need for in person visits, repeated phone calls and on-line portal use. All owners and licensed professionals are now required to use DOB NOW.
