NYSAFAH names Housing Partnership Development Corp. 2016 Not-for-Profit Partner of the Year

Each year NYSAFAH celebrates excellence in development and construction, as well as advocacy and partnership, in affordable housing.
“My colleagues and I at the NYC Housing Partnership are very proud of this recognition by NYSAFAH. As we endeavor to expand affordable housing opportunities for New Yorkers we have worked closely with the association and its members, including developers, affordable housing advocates and financial institutions, for many years,” said Dan Martin, president and CEO of the NYC Housing Partnership.
The Housing Partnership Development Corp. assists in the development, promotion, and revitalization of affordable rental and homeownership housing through an array of specialized programs and services that benefit area residents.
Since its inception in 1982, the non-profit Housing Partnership has been the city’s primary intermediary for the development and preservation of affordable housing throughout the five boroughs. By establishing numerous public and private partnerships, it has facilitated the development and preservation of more than 50,000 units of housing for low- and moderate-income households, successfully leveraged more than $6 billion in private sector financing.
The work of the Housing Partnership over more than three decades has provided thousands of families with the opportunity to rent or own homes in safe communities, and to raise their children in secure environments. These efforts have stimulated economic growth and revitalized neighborhoods throughout the city.
On Thursday, November 10, developers, bankers, community groups, affordable housing advocates, public officials and others committed to the mission of expanding workforce housing in the five boroughs, will gather to celebrate the 34th anniversary of the establishment of the Housing Partnership Development Corp. (NYC Housing Partnership) at a gala luncheon at Gotham Hall. Congressman Steve Israel is the guest of honor.
