New York, NY Jack Resnick & Sons has signed a 15-year, 10,547 s/f lease with Weill Cornell Medicine, on a portion of the fifth floor of 255 Greenwich St.   The medical offices will house Weill Cornell Medicine’s Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine.  Weill Cornell Medicine expects to begin operating in the distinctive 14-story, 600,000 s/f office building in January 2017. “We’re delighted to add Weill Cornell Medicine to our prestigious tenant roster at 255 Greenwich St.,” said Jonathan Resnick, president of Jack Resnick & Sons. “We are confident that they will benefit from the building’s strategic location adjacent to downtown’s major transportation hubs and the distinctive neighborhoods of FiDi, Tribeca and Battery Park City.” The new lease for Weill Cornell Medicine  comes on the heels of an impressive surge in leasing activity at the property. Over the past six months alone, the Resnick Organization has achieved over 75,000 s/f of transactions, resulting in an occupancy rate of over 98%.  There is currently a 10,000 square foot unit available on the 5th floor.  Among the building’s most notable new tenants are retailer Target Corp. and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dennis Brady and Brett Greenberg of Jack Resnick & Sons represented the building owner in the long-term leasing transaction, while John Cefaly and Michael Burgio of Cushman & Wakefield represented Cornell. Other tenants at the Wired Score Platinum certified office building include RR Donnelley & Sons, Tradition North America, the City of New York and the Borough of Manhattan Community College. Originally known as 75 Park Place, the building was designed by Emery Roth & Sons Architects and built by the Resnicks in 1986. It was renamed in 2012 to more accurately reflect its prime location along an important stretch of Greenwich St., which was recently re-introduced to the Lower Manhattan streetscape for the first time since construction began on the original World Trade Center a half century ago. A full service real estate organization, Jack Resnick & Sons has been an industry leader in development, construction, ownership and management since its founding in 1928.  Its Manhattan portfolio currently includes approximately six million s/f of commercial office and retail space, including One Seaport Plaza, its signature office tower at 199 Water St.  It also has developed thousands of luxury residences and continues to own, manage and lease approximately 1,000 rental apartments.
