Scholarships now available for the CCIM designation

By Joe Larkin, CCIM, CIPS, SIOR Each year the Education Foundation of the CCIM Institute awards several Designation Scholarships. This year I am proud to announce, the Foundation will award six scholarships. Scholarships are awarded in the following categories: * Cultural diversity/ underserved minority scholarships; * Legacy: son/daughter of a CCIM; and * There are two open scholarships that are open to any CCIM candidate. These scholarships will cover the tuition for CI 102; CI 103; CI 104; and CCR. The scholarship also covers the processing fees for the Portfolio of Qualifying Experience and the Comprehensive Exam. In addition, scholarship winners will also receive reimbursement for associated travel expenses. The Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2008 Designation Scholarship. In order to qualify an applicant must meet the following criteria: * Have successfully completed the CCIM CI 101 course between Jan. 1, 2007 - Aug. 15, 2008; * Must be a candidate member of the CCIM Institute; and * Must be a member of their CCIM Chapter; must be pursuing a career in commercial real estate and must have practical experience in the commercial or investment real estate business.   If you would like additional information on this scholarship, please contact the NYS CCIM Chapter or visit the CCIM Education Foundation's website at www.ccimef.org. Each year the NYS CCIM Chapter awards scholarships for the CI 101 course. Through the Chapter Scholarship Program, the Education Foundation awards $500 towards the cost of completing CI 101: Financial Analysis for Commercial Real Estate. This scholarship may be used at any course location and it must be used during the calendar year in which it was awarded.
