Industrial commercial real estate development leaders will come together for I.con, the Industrial Conference, hosted by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), April 2-3, at the Sheraton Meadowlands Hotel & Conference Center. The annual event, held in partnership with NAIOP's New Jersey chapter, returns to the northeast this year and will spotlight the region's vibrant industrial markets and world-class transportation systems. The conference will delve into the sector's current issues and challenges - goods movement, the impact of globalization on transportation and logistics patterns and developing sustainable industrial properties. Included among the highlights: * Keynote addresses: Tony Coscia, chairman, Port Authority of New York/New Jersey; Mary Ludgin, managing director of global research, Heitman; and Hamid Moghadam, CEO/chairman, AMB Property Corporation. * Concurrent education sessions with industry-leading speakers. What's in all of those boats and Where's it going?; Industrial to Industrial: Redeveloping Obsolete Buildings into Viable Properties User Decisions and How Development Follows; and Greening of Industrial. * Project Tours: Three guided tours (attendees choose one) include New Jersey's Exit 8A market, the Meadowlands industrial area and a boat tour of one of the country's most powerful transportation hubs - the port of New York/New Jersey. "I.con provides an in-depth look at the changing face of industrial real estate," said Thomas Bisacquino, NAIOP president. "This year's northeastern location and focus on logistics, end-user trends and industrial green development offers a real-world look at what's facing industrial real estate today and in the future."
