Klinger of SCG Retail brokers two retail leases for Papyrus

September 23, 2013 - Brokerage
SCG-Retail has signed two leases for Papyrus totaling 5,300 s/f. The first is a 1,000 s/f space with 300 s/f the basement for NIQUEA.D, a new fashion/accessories concept at 1335 Third Ave., between 76th-77th Sts. The second is a 2,500 s/f space on the ground (1,500 s/f in the basement) for a combination Papyrus/NIQUEA.D at 678 Hudson St. in the Meatpacking district between 13th and 14th Sts. Both deals were handled by Jacqueline Klinger of SCG Retail, who represents Papyrus exclusively in the New York Metro region. This is the second NIQUEA.D location, a new concept from the founders of Papyrus. According to Dominque Schurman, Papyrus founder and CEO and creator of this new store, "NIQUEA.D captures the imagination of women, it's a living storybook where dreams and imaginations come alive, where joy and celebration are our cornerstone." "Elements of what one finds at NIQUEA.D have been in Papyrus for years," said Klinger of SCG-Retail. "This new concept has historic charm and is curated with exquisite taste. The Upper East Side is the perfect location to launch this concept on its own; the meat packing district is a great location for the combination store." The NIQUEA.D at 1335 Third Ave. is next to the hot restaurant, Atlantic Grill and the fashion retailer Yumi. The building is owned by the Mautner-Glick Corporation. The space was previously a jeans store. The Papyrus/NIQUEA.D location at 678 Hudson is adjacent to the recently opened Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and across the street diagonally from the Apple store. The building is owned by Lloyd Goldman and was formerly a store called Adam. "The New York Metro Area has been one of our strongest markets," said Ken Rendina, COO of Papyrus. "We've been working with Jacqueline for many years. She's helped us find great locations and avoid the mistakes that many out-of-town retailers make when they come to the Big Apple. Both stores should open in the fall."678 Hudson Street, Meatpacking District - Manhattan, NY
