Rockland Economic Development Corporation's Procurement Technical Assistance Center (REDC's PTAC) encourages businesses to attend its free program on Wednesday, April 10th, 2013. How to Do Business with Orange County. Businesses will find out what they need to know to maximize their opportunities with Orange County from: James P. Burpoe, Commissioner, Orange County Department of General Services; Ruth Luis, Director of Compliance, Department of General Services, the County of Orange; and Elaine DeLuca, buyer, Department of General Services, the County of Orange. The Orange County Buy Local Initiative is based on the importance of purchasing from the local supplier in order to have a positive impact on the local economy. Sixty-two cents of every dollar spent with a local supplier remains in the local economy thus improving the economic livelihood of the community and its residents. The Orange County Department of General Services will present and familiarize attendees with the County procurement process and assist local business owners interested in becoming suppliers with the necessary steps to become active suppliers of the various commodities the County purchases.
