Barton LLP has expanded its litigation and commercial real estate practice with the addition of Andrea Lawrence as a partner of the firm.
Lawrence brings experience in complex litigation and commercial real estate to the firm. She routinely provides counsel to real estate companies, landlords, developers, property management companies and commercial tenants in a wide range of matters, including construction litigations, financing and brokerage disputes, lease disputes, commercial landlord-tenant proceedings, guaranty actions, bankruptcy proceedings, mortgage foreclosures, mechanics' lien actions, real property disputes and co-op and condo lawsuits. In addition to litigation, she represents clients in the negotiation and drafting of commercial leases and other real estate agreements.
Lawrence also represents non-real estate clients in corporate litigations involving breach of contract, fraud and fiduciary duty litigation, joint venture and partnership disputes, trade secret lawsuits and antitrust class actions.
Lawrence is a contributing author to several legal treatises on landlord-tenant law and administrative law in New York. She is also the author of various articles on significant legal issues and trends affecting the real estate industry. She was recently featured in the New York Real Estate Journal's special edition on women who have contributed to the real estate industry over the past decade.
Lawrence said that she is "very excited to join the talented team at Barton LLP, where I can continue to provide counsel and legal advice to clients in the environment of a growing, high quality and business minded law firm."
Prior to joining Barton, she was a real estate partner at LeclairRyan where she focused her practice on real estate and commercial litigation. She also practiced at Epstein Becker Green PC and Blank Rome LLP.
