Effective Plumbing trains staff on new EPA lead law

July 14, 2010 - Brokerage
On April 22 the Federal EPA issued a new lead law which states that all contractors performing renovations, repairs and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and follow work practices to prevent lead contamination. Effective Plumbing was one of the first plumbing companies to train and educate their employees on the new law. As of April 5, their staff started attending classes to ensure compliance with the new rule. Once the classes are complete, attendees are required to pass an exam before receiving their certificate of completion. "When it comes to safety and environmental issues we work closely with our insurance company and host monthly safety meetings in order to keep our men up to date on the latest compliance rules," said Jeff Kruman, VP of Effective Planning. "We see our customer's problems as our problems and so we take any necessary precautions in order to insulate our clients from potential problems." Effective Plumbing offers services such as repairs, installations and renovations in both residential and commercial locations. They specialize in finding and fixing leaks and are always on call for emergencies, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. They are competitively priced and offer special rates to landlords as they service many co-ops, condos, restaurant, bars and clubs. The Effective Plumbing staff is neat and professional and maintains a clean work environment, ensuring their clients that their property will be respected at all times.
