YM/WREA works with Habitat on Atlantic Ave./Eastern Pkwy. project

December 7, 2007 - Brokerage
On Friday October 5th, 20 members of the YM/WREA worked alongside with future residents at Habitat for Humanity's Atlantic Ave./Eastern Pkwy. project in the Ocean Hill-Brownsville neighborhood. It is one of Habitat's largest ever projects in New York City. The Atlantic Ave./ Eastern Pkwy. complex consists of three buildings. When completed, the complex will provide quality, affordable homes for 41 local families-double the number of homes that Habitat NYC provides in a typical year. The project is being constructed with healthy and environmentally friendly materials and will strive to meet strict LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards. Energy-efficient building methods will enable future Habitat homeowners to save up to 30% on their energy bills.
