Portal Warehousing opens newest location at The Whale - 58,500 s/f

Brooklyn, NY Portal Warehousing, a leading provider of flexible co-warehousing solutions, is opening its new location in Sunset Park, at The Whale, a historic building. This expansion reflects Portal’s commitment to supporting the growing demands of e-commerce and logistics for small businesses, enterprise organizations and publicly-traded entities. 

Portal provides flexible lease terms from three to 12 months and includes amenities such as high-speed internet, discounted shipping rates, reception services and daily scheduled pickups from major carriers. Shared common spaces like a coworking area, kitchen and a photography booth are available and programmed to foster networking and collaboration among members. Tenants who opt in can also make use of Portal’s comprehensive shipping and logistics platform and mobile app that come with a variety of features including flex warehouse labor support to hire short-term hourly workers, a community events calendar, tenant communications, order fulfillment analytics and more.

The Whale is an expansive complex redefining the flex industrial experience. The seven-story property contains over 500,000 s/f of space with versatile floor plates, ideal for warehousing distribution, e-commerce, logistics, light assembly and manufacturing and flex office use. Supporting Portal tenants ready to expand to larger spaces, the property features customizable units ranging from 2,500 to 50,000 s/f, with 13 to 22-ft. ceiling heights and waterfront views.

Located at 14 53rd St., the Sunset Park location features 60 units ranging from 200 to 1,500 s/f, offering move-in ready spaces. Portal’s 10-year management agreement with Capstone Equities encompasses the 6th and 7th floors at a combined 58,500 s/f, with Edward Kent serving as senior leasing manager. Portal has also partnered with Newmark Group to lease the remaining space in the building.
