Platinum Commercial leases 15,600 s/f at 155 Fifth Ave.

Manhattan, NY Since launching its new commercial arm earlier this year, Platinum Commercial, part of the family-owned boutique brokerage Platinum Properties, has leased the remaining floors at 155 Fifth Ave., the historic six-story commercial building known as The Scribner Building located in The Flatiron District. Platinum Commercial leased 15,600 s/f of commercial space across three floors in the building in less than six months, bringing the building to full occupancy.

“155 Fifth Ave. is known for its prime office space but was only half occupied when we were first brought on. Platinum Commercial’s extensive network as well as our understanding of our clients’ needs helped us quickly find the right tenants,” said Steven Evans, managing partner at Platinum Commercial. “We understand the demand for office space in the neighborhood as well as the strength of Manhattan’s office market, and helped bring the building to full capacity.”

Platinum signed a deal with Vitesse PSP Inc, a London-based treasury and payment service provider for the insurance sector. The fin tech firm inked a lease for 5,200 s/f on the fourth floor. Platinum Commercial’s Steven Evans, Emre Bozkurt, Joseph Zalta, and Brian Peer represented the landlord in the deal, while the tenant was represented by Alex Gerome and Andy Roberts of Cresa.

Other notable tenants that Platinum Commercial recently leased space to at 155 Fifth Ave. include two UK-based contemporary fashion brands who both signed 10-year leases: Varley and Manière De Voir. American furniture manufacturer Hickory Business Furniture (HBF) and LIXIL Water Experience Center, a company that advances water technology, have also established presence in the building.

“155 Fifth Ave. was the perfect size and location as the building is located in a tech as well as fashion-forward neighborhood and is also one of New York City’s most desirable areas for office space. Each tenant having their own dedicated full floor was also an attractive feature for this building,” said Evans.

Originally built and completed in 1893, 155 Fifth Ave. is also world-renowned as The Scribner Building, as it was once the corporate headquarters of Charles Scribner’s Sons publishing company. Having a Beaux Arts flair that has since been preserved, the limestone-clad structure offers natural light, an attended lobby, brand-new installations, direct-elevator access as well as high ceilings and skyline views. The property was identified as a New York City landmark in the 1970s and was also added to The National Register of Historic Places.

The building’s location provides access to public transportation including the R, W and 6 trains while being surrounded by some of the city’s top restaurants including Gramercy Tavern, Early NYC Flatiron and ABC Kitchen. Green space at Madison Square Park is also nearby.

155 Fifth Ave. was exclusively represented by Platinum Commercial.
