Lowenstein Sandler hires Forman and Friedenberg as new partners

New York, NY Lowenstein Sandler has continued its strategic growth with the hiring of two new partners: Daniel Forman is joining the Capital Markets & Securities practice, and Matthew Friedenberg is joining in Business Litigation. They will both be based in the firm’s New York City office.

Firm chair and managing partner Gary Wingens said, “Lowenstein’s strategic plan for the future envisions dramatic growth across all of our practices. The arrival of these new partners, established practitioners in the respective areas of capital markets and business litigation, is both a symbol of our firm’s strengths and a harbinger of great things to come in the new year. We are delighted to welcome Daniel and Matt to the firm.”

Forman represents public and private companies, investment banks, private equity sponsors, and venture funds in securities offerings as well as corporate governance and compliance matters. Forman has significant experience with transactions involving IPO’s, secondary equity offerings, debt and convertible debt offerings, PIPES, and other private placements. He has worked with clients across a wide range of industries, including life sciences, technology, retail and consumer brands, industrials and financial institutions, among others.

Steven Skolnick, chair of the firm’s Capital Markets & Securities practice and vice chair of its Transactions & Advisory Group, said, “Dan has impressive experience leading multimillion dollar registered equity offerings, convertible notes, investment grade and high yield notes offerings, and other securities offerings. His knowledge of IPO’s, CMPOs, RDs, PIPES, and other sophisticated financing transactions will provide great value to our firm’s client base.”

Matthew Friedenberg

Forman is a member of the Securities & Regulation Committee of the Association of the New York City Bar Association. He is dedicated to pro bono and community service through his involvement with the Advisory Board of Legal Outreach and his support of the Legal Services NYC and the Billion Oyster Project. He is a graduate of Cardozo School of Law and a former partner at Ropes & Gray.

Friedenberg litigates commercial and real estate disputes in state and federal court, as well as alternative dispute resolution forums.

Friedenberg’s practice has a particular focus on the representation of real estate operators and their capital providers, marquee luxury brands, and private equity firms and their portfolio companies.

Christopher Porrino, chair of Lowenstein’s Litigation Department, said, “Matt’s distinguished track record of litigation success for real estate clients in the New York region makes him an ideal addition to our business disputes group, and is a testament to Lowenstein’s reputation as a litigation firm of national stature.”

Friedenberg is also a graduate of Cardozo Law. He joins Lowenstein from Vinson & Elkins.
