Lendlease launches leasing at the Riverie

Brooklyn, NY Lendlease has begun leasing at The Riverie. Located at 18 India St. (or 1 Java St.) in the Greenpoint neighborhood, The Riverie is an all-electric, residential development that opened October 2025, offering 834 rental apartments – 30% of which are designated affordable housing – together with 13,000 s/f of retail and restaurant space, amenities and new public greenspace.

Spanning an city block along the East River, The Riverie features two residential towers rising 37 and 20 stories, as well as a mid-rise podium with frontages along India, West and Java streets. Combined with its fully electric design, The Riverie is expected to reduce annual carbon emissions from heating and cooling by 53% when compared to traditional residential buildings, supporting Lendlease’s industry-leading target of reaching absolute zero carbon by 2040.

Riverie Park, the development’s new 18,000 s/f public esplanade, is designed by James Corner Field Operations as a resilient living shoreline. An elevated ground plane and native plantings restore the river edge while protecting against sea level rise. The waterfront park connects directly to the India Street Pier, offering a five-minute commute to Midtown Manhattan via the NYC Ferry.
