Helmsley Spear signs MAS to lease at 111 Bdwy.

Manhattan, NY Helmsley Spear, LLC represented the Municipal Art Society of New York (MAS) in a new lease at 111 Bdwy., relocating from their midtown offices at 488 Madison Ave. The new MAS office space of 7,010 s/f is on the 16th floor.

The Municipal Art Society was represented by Randy Sherman, executive managing director, with Eric Lassoff, managing director, in the new lease. The landlord Trinity Centre LLC, was represented by Michael Joseph, Aidan Campbell, and JP Howard of Colliers.

“We are thrilled to have represented the MAS in their move to this landmarked location. The new offices will help to ensure the future growth of MAS in its mission to serve the people of New York City. For over 130 years MAS has been at the forefront of those who care deeply about New York City’s built environment, including its historic past and the future days ahead,” said Sherman.

The MAS is one of New York City’s most revered cultural organizations. For well over a century the organization has championed and advocated the best interests in the city’s-built environment. MAS advocacy has led to the creation of the New York City Planning Commission, the Landmarks Preservation Commission, Preservation of Grand Central Station, and creation of the Historic District Council, among its many achievements.

111 Bdwy. is located near many transportation lines, including the 4,5, R, W and J subway lines. The 22 Story Neo-Gothic building was built in 1907 and designed by Francis Kimball. The building was designated a New York City Landmark in 1988.
